"Considering" Selling My 1950 170D
Thinking about selling my '50 170d. Wanting to see if anyone might be interested in buying it.
https://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/vintage-mercedes-forum/352670-what-oldest-benz-here-2.html (scroll down to post 24) Looked like in the pics when I parked it in the garage 20± years ago. Has a thick layer of dust & a lotta boxes in and on it now, smells of rat/mouse piss now (ha! warning!) -corne- |
Where is it?
Sixto 05 E320 wagon 194K miles |
Likely San Diego, but that's a guess because I've yet to get a response after the first message I sent him.
Maybe he's changed his mind? |
North San Diego county = Vista/San Marcos.
Somebody asked & I replied (same) Never got a message from LWB250 Yes, I am still interested in selling it. [edit] Sorry, I missed your PM, info ^ |
"Considering" is a rather vague term here. The "seller" isn't willing to provide any current pictures, only his description of the car. It's apparently buried in a garage with things stacked on top of it, which is the condition in which he offers to show it.

I paid $12,000 for it, I will take $8,000, ← if you want to negotiate, the price will only go up, , ,

I'm still looking for bits and pieces to at least get a rear end under my '51 170S, but I wouldn't even consider chopping yours up as it is miles above mine in terms of condition.
People can tell that there's no serious interest in selling, however. Even some updated, higher resolution photos may drum up some interest. Again, even if it's dusty and sitting under boxes, seeing what they'll be working with will ignite interest if there is any. From the old photos, it does look like a nice car, with the pre-war fender grille design. My '51 has the two horizontal slats when they made some updates. |
