Fs: 1987 300sdl
She's an 87 300SDL Turbo. Approx 278K miles. Smoke silver with creme interior. The original owner picked her up in Germany thru the european delivery program on June 16, 1987. It lived in Southern California until 1996 and approximately 100,000 miles. The original owner's son drove it out to NJ from Cali. I have all of the service records while it was in NJ. ZERO RUST. ZERO! I obtained the car in January of 2001 with 226,700 miles. I commuted approximately 120 miles per day for a while with it, then didn't drive it for about 5 months while I was driving my 83 300D (5/01 to 10/01), now recently I've been traveling about 100 miles per day again. 99.9% highway miles while I've owned it. It has been serviced religously all it's life, and even more so since I've owned it. Most recently it's had the timing chain, tensioner, 2 new tires, 1 pound of R12 refrigerant and a new sunroof cable. Below is a link to all of the service records. The maint. book is stamped until 110K miles, until ~90K miles it was serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Hollywood, CA. Then Contemporary Motorcars in Little Silver, NJ. I did most of my own wrenching but what was done at a shop was done at Roxbury Foriegn Car in Roxbury, NJ (a very trusted mechanic). I gave this car whatever it needed. At present, it needs absolutely nothing. I dare say this is one of THE best driving 300SDL's on the road. I have driven about 10 300SDL's over the years. It uses ZERO oil in 4000 miles, starts efforlessly with no classic lifter noise. It cruises at 90mph effortlessly. It shifts perfectly (no slippage or funny shifts). The paint is badly faded but is presentable. It will need to be repainted if you want a mint car. The interior is excellent with one wear spot on the drivers seat back. All windows and sunroof work. AC is icy cold (freezes me out of the car on these 100 degree days we've been having). I refinished the rims with Wurth paint and they look as new now. You are getting alot of car for the money and I think it's a good deal considering how amazing the car runs and drives and the records avaliable. There are no suprises and nothing to fix or wonder about. Just get in and drive. Photos: http://www.unusual-imports.com/300sdl/ Service record: http://www.unusual-imports.com/300sdl/service.html Any testdrives are welcome, I will even come to you if you are reasonably close. You can email me at zemkowski@comcast.net or call me (908) 755-2525 The price is $6000 FIRM. I could (possibly) deliver it anywhere. |

It's got 280K now, never running better. Get it while it's under 300K. New price is $5500 for a diesel nut who I know will care for it, and I can read about it's life here. |

I'm mulling over the idea of buying a newer car and adding a 123 diesel to my fleet if I do sell the SDL. I would love to get back in a 123 again.
If I don't I sell the SDL it's no loss, I'll still keep driving it as I do every day. |

John
You change diesels like I change underwear.
That is such a nice car, I can't believe you have put her on the market. As a reference......the car is in great shape and I would trust no one more than Turbodiesel to provide a nice running car in good condition. This is a good buy. Good luck. JCD |

Thanks JCD.
I've actually owned the car since January of 2001, which is a record for me. 55,000+ miles is way to long to own one car! |

Looks like a great car. Am I right in thinking these came with ABS and airbags?
If so, at 15 yrs old, are those airbags going to be in need of major servicing any time soon? I never really thought about that until now. |
