I'm just curious as to what you are going to buy next.

You posted a while ago about buying a W210 E300....

Good choice.

Mid-year 2000 and newer E430's are just about perfect from what I hear.

Yes it seems that is the case...funny they seem to have a better record than the diesel 210's out there...which seem to have a quite a few problems in 98-99 vintage according to people here.
By the way I lowered the price on my current vehicle $500

any takers?

Too bad I'm not a diesel fan.

$9,500 is a ridiculously cheap price for a W140 sedan, especially considering the dealer maintenance and repair history.

Somebody is going to get a good deal on this car.

Evaporator has been replaced along with climate control switches on the dash in 2000.
No wiring harness issues on these vehicles that I can recall. If one came with the engine..I guess that is new also...not sure.
I know they told me everything from the valve cover to the oil pan was replaced wwith the longblock engine that was installed

and by the way when I say EVERYTHING works it does....closing assist doors and trunk, power rearview interior mirror that is integrated with the memory seat along with the power tilt and telescoping steering wheel...all dash and interior cluster bulbs..new bose amp and rebuilt becker 10 disc factory CD changer. Rear reversing rods...etc..etc
For all of you that know the 140 chasis...then you know its a good thing that these items have been addressed already..so that you won't have to deal with that
2 owner car...bought originally in Morristown NJ.
I bought it in 1999
Have copy of the original $72,000 sticker for the car
Have 3 sets of keys for the vehicle including the keyless entry unit

I have between $19,000 and $20,000 worth of MB dealer receipts for the car when it was under warranty

Unhappy

NOt to waste your time........ I am not in the market at the present time, but do have one question....

MB , "being so reliable", why would it need a new engine so soon in its life? And $15K in receipts? Thats a lot of things going wrong with it... I had heard of problem riddled - W140 chassis cars, I better do some more searches..

thanks

Actually its more than that in receipts actually.
Everything that the MB dealer wanted to replace ..they did...trust me

as for reliability you might need to ask what that really means...trust me there are a lot of the new cars(especially S class) that have quite a list of repairs that are over 10K in warranty claims

as for the 140 chasis they told me mine was a very early production model(first retail delivery in fall of '91) and that there were many running updates that were made in the first few years of these that be came changes in the later cars.
My car simply had all the updates/changes made in the scope of warranty work.

Thanks...but I already have at least one cash offer higher than that with a couple of more people that want to look at it that are willing to beat the current cash offer I have
