1980 300cd for sale

I live in Washington state. My car is in San Diego at my dads house. He's moving to Hawaii very soon. I don't want to sell it. I also don't want to go pick it up. But I will if nobody buys it. I don't need it. However, I really like it and it's been very good to me. Do a search "wheels for 300cd" there is a picture of it. Engine runs great. I would confidently drive it up to Washington non stop and probobly burn less than a quart of oil. In the opinion of some, I did "butcher" it a bit. Interested?

I'm interested.

Check your email.

Wow, looks like a carbon copy of mine. Anyone who says you've butchered it hasn't driven a 123 on 16" rims. Good luck!

check your mail

Check your mail. I am interested because my backup car just blew a tranny and is not worth fixing. So there is a space in my driveway that needs filling:p

Good luck getting a reply

There's nothing worse in an ad than somebody who won't respond. I have yet to receive a reply to either my email or PM.

Why not read my post before replying? I've contacted him through both his email address listed and forum PM. Please read this post before replying. Thanks.

Sorry for not responding. I don't have internet access at home. I have to go to kinkos. I was working all weekend and kinkos was closed Sunday and Monday. I'm in a hurry right now. I will come back to kinkos today around 3 pm pacific time. andy

Since the seller is not responding on a regular basis, here is the description supplied in his email:

"runs great, reliable, not original engine. A rebuild from a 77 300d. Must have done a good job. Had 15k miles on rebuild before I bought it. I put at least 20k over a three year period. Doesn't leak or burn oil, starts easily. repainted (looks good enough for me) new windshield, in 2001 new front brakes including new calipers, rotors and wheel bearings. new wheels and euro bumpers as you can see in the picture. interior is pretty good. rear seats are torn up at top from sun damage, front seats are worn but not torn and very small crack on dash. Interior is black. No AC . Needs driver side window regulator replaced (I have the part) replaced exhaust system (not mb) At some time in the cars life the battery leaked and made a hole in the firewall. I did a quickie fiberglass repair. out of site out of mind. Any other questions? Interested still? andy"

And still no price.

andy 06-02-2004 04:55 PM

I made mistake. I forgot to list a price. I'd like to hear some offers. I know there are plenty of you out there that pay only a few hundred dollars for your MB diesels. However, I'm not interested in giving it away. andy

Hence listing a price. You know what you have to get out of the car, so post it. If you're only a semi-serious seller, then start an auction on the appropriate website and see how far it goes.

andy 06-07-2004 05:45 PM

Jim, Why do you care? Are you a serious buyer? Do you live in California? Do you really care if I list a price? I listed the car for sale here to see if someone wanted what I had. If I sell it fine, if not I'll pick it up and drive the hell out of it just the way it is. If your not interested in it don't keep coming back to this thread. andy

Andy, I am a disintererested party, but it would help if you listed an asking price. Most people here won't start open bidding on any car, never mind one they can't see.

Would you bid on this car without having any idea what the guy want's for it?

Good luck.

andy 06-09-2004 12:56 AM

Plantman, In my original thread I listed my e-mail address so that I could respond to to people individually, and I did. I was specific about a price and details about the car. Several of them responded privatly that they were not interested after learning more and have others that are going to see and drive the car. As far as a bidding contest, I didn't intend to start one. However, if you catch people at the right time and mood??? I hope this clears things up a bit. andy

And even in the email contact you still refused to list a price. I was interested in buying your car, but your lollygagging BS was too friggin' irritating to me, so I wound up buying another diesel. I don't think you're the least bit serious about selling your car.

andy 06-14-2004 05:43 PM

"your lallygagging BS was to friggin irritating to me, so I wound up buying another diesel" Jim. Cry,Cry,Cry. Is it that time of the month? Are you done now? I am. I hope you enjoy your new diesel. andy
