I'm in the process of replacing my muffler with a Borla or a Bosal Univeral muffler. Has anyone had any experience with either of these brand's. Also do anyone no of afermarket muffler that has duel tips for a 190E 2.6?

I did the same thing on my old 190E 2.6/swapped for a 3.2. Anyways, I took out the converter, and installed a bigger performance one that gave more HP and better Emissions by finding one that has a better surface area of reaction then the stock one. Then I completely bypassed the resonator and took that out which got the whinny noise out and saved about 50lbs right there. That thing was heavy!
Then In the resonator's area, I installed a Borla Univeral muffler, then 18" long, 3" diamater Silver Bullet muffler. After the muffler I added twin exit adapter, add used the flexible muffler tubing and had it come one on each side so that I could get the dual exhaust look. Everything was clamped so nothing was loose, and at the end, I got dual square tips for each side. It looked extremely nice, and I had no problem with emissions. The sound was perfect, not to loud or to whinny, and the power improved by about 10% after the converter/resonator/muffler job. I wish I had pictures of the job or the car, but I sold it. Hope this Helps.

By the way, I took the car to a muffler shop that did most of the work. I ended up spending about $150 for the muffler, $75 for the tips, $150 for the converter, and $25 for the 2 flexible muffler tubbing. I spent another $150 for the installation. By the time I was done, I spent close to $600, and still got a better system then REMUX or ANSA.

I believe the Remus rear muffler has dual tips. I've seen one installed on a 300E and the said dual tips stuck out far enough to knock you in the shin if you were walking close to the back of the car. I've not seen the Borla/Bosal mufflers installed on a 190 that I was familiar with.

HOpe this helps...Lee
