valentine one question

Is the price difference on ebay between version 1.7 and 1.8 worth the difference? Anyone know how the 2 compare? Is 1.7 good enough or should I wait 'till I have enough for 1.8?

You can get the 1.7 and send it in for upgrading (see valentine one website for instructions and fee) or purchase the 1.8, the latest version will offer the best protection. Every time there is an upgrade you can send in your unit to get it modified.

I know that... I was asking if the difference in price (ebay) is worth it or not. I think paying $300 for that upgrade is BS anyways.

Cool Valentine

Check out the Bel RX65. It is a lot better radar detector and Bel has qalways been at the top. I used to have a Bel 980 and I drove with it on everywhere. I took my Mercedes down to Orlando Florida and never had a problem. Made it there from here in Norfolk Va in 8 hrs. I was doing some hunting for some scanners and I came across a distributor on Ebay that has them for 255 dollars. Thats a steal for the protection you will have. Another option is to sell yours on ebay for 150 or more and get the bel. Just my 2 cents

VAlentine one is the one to get. For a while, V1's didnt protect against POP. I heard someone who said he got the latest one (1.8 model, like mine, but IG uess it's effective against pop mode), and that it said it was pop ready or whatever.

Anyway, just shell out the extra $100 and get it from V1.

try a Escort 8500 x50

I have one and it's saved me countless times in the first month. My in-law has a V-1 and the only difference is the direction indicator and the extra $100. My point is that when that Ka indicator goes off, you're off the gas regardless of the direction. It goes off before I can even see the CHP. It also can be sent in for free up grades - my 2 cents
