Hi

I have a 1995 C280 with modified air intake and Max Speed Muffler. Actually, the top of the airbox (where filter lies) was removed and my friend and I rigged up a K&N conical filter connected to airtight aluminium (straight) piping and this piping screws to the MAV sensor pipe very tight. (I hope that doesn't cause any problems - the filter just rests in the engine compartment)right above the left headlight assembly. Anyways, I was wondering if my final drave gear ratios used a ZF setup like BMW does. If so, I've heard a the final drive ratio from a 328i or 325i could be used which is higher so I could get the car accelerating faster. Or if not, is there anway I could put a different gear ratio in there from an aftermarket or custom retailer? Please help with this issue? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

On almost all MB's in this country there is a traction system tied to the ABS system if your car has only ETS then a diff change is possible. Finding a replacement diff will be the problem. MB designs there own diffs & parts are exclusive to MB.
