Hey there everyone.
I saved up a bit of extra cash and want to make my 400e look a bit nicer and updated. I want to get clear turn signals for it, and eventually euro headlights. Where are the best prices/quality? I also saw something that was like a plastic sticker that you stick on your headlights close to the grille, to make it look more like the hood from a 94/95 model. I think they were called something like “eyebrow” or something… any thoughts? Also, I really like the 94/95 W124 trunk lids, how are they different from the 92/93 lids? It just looks like that long black plastic strip was removed and a shorter chrome strip was added to the same place above the license plate. Anyway, that's about it. Also, if anyone has any good ideas on updating the look, let me know. |

I got my clear corners for http://www.gapa.com. They are made in Taiwan by Depo.
The look good, I will probably change them when I get the euro's to the smoked front clear corners but am not sure if I will do that yet. http://www.in-pro.com should have them. As for the trunk lid, the chrome handle was not the only change, the actual lid itself, where the license plate is has been raised to be flush with the lights and not inset. My 92 has a plastic trunk lid insert which makes it flush and appear similar to a 94-95, apart fromt he chrome handle. You can see pics of my car on my site. Hope that helps you with some of your upgrading. Alon

GAPA guys are really nice. I visited 2x already. However, the GAPA clear corners are a RAPING at $50/pair considering they are M.I.T (made in Taiwan). I bought a pair of M.I.T clear corners in Taiwan for USD$20. When I was in HK last week, I bought a pair of OEM Bosch clear corners for USD$35. If you pay more than $35, you are getting ripped off. There's always some rice shop selling MIT clear corners on Ebay. Buyer beware. The quality of the Bosch OEM lights are better, but not significantly better than the MIT units. Bosch's rubber molding & the injection molded interior plastic piece are clearly superior than the Taiwanese brand even tho it's really made in Czech. However, the lighting surface itself on the Bosch unit is indeed made in Germany. YMMV.

So TonyC, can I just get the BOSCH OEM clear corners for 94/95 model and will they fit on my 92? What about the bulbs... $35 is pretty cheap, so I am guessing they don't come with bulbs. Where would I get the BOSCH corners?

Well I did say the ones I got were made in taiwan, and made by a company called depo.
The price of $50 is not bad at all, considering that I have seen them go for $99 to $149 on various sites that sell them. I'm sure you have seen them on bekkers for $99 I will be selling mine when I get the new ones with the Euro Lights I just ordered, and will be selling them at a loss to me, but only because I have no use for them after I get the Euro lights. I should have the Euro's by next Friday (not this friday). Contact me if you want to pick up mine, which can be seen on my car. they don't look bad at all, and I'll sell them for $20, but only when I have gotten my Euro's and the other indicators. So if anyone wants them, contact me and I'll sell them to you for $20, but only next week when I will be able to take them off my car. They have only been on the car for 2 months. Alon P.S. You can't go wrong with buying Bosch. Are the Bosch the ones with the orange reflective strip on the side? If they are those are the ones I personally don't like because of the orange. If they don't have the orange, then that is good.

Kyle,
buy 'em off Ashman =) yes, the clear corners will fit on your 92. The generic MIT corners are not year model specific & come in several flavors: the 100% clear and the smoked. The OEM Bosch ones come in 3 flavors: the 100% clear and the clear w/ orange internal reflector and the smoked. Once again, if you pay more than $35 for Made in Taiwan clear corners, you paid too much. I don't see how any one can even argue against this considering: 1) I bought 'em for US$20 while in Taiwan, 2) Bekker's stuff is OFTEN overpriced 3) Honda clear corners can be had for ~$35. YMMV. Tony 90 300CE, 160K mi. * BTW, this thread doesn't really belong in 'Performce Paddock' considering clear corners don't make your car go any faster =)
