I put a sun roof wind deflector on my ML and WOW, what a favorable difference! You can go 80 (fast as I've had the ML so far) and be able to carry on a conversation at normal levels. I highly recommend one of these inexpensive additions! Got mine at Clair parts http://www.clairparts.com

Yeah, I popped one onto my TE and it works great too. And 'cuz of the luggage rack on the roof it's barely noticeable.

However, I put the same OE piece on my 500E and it looked Horrible! So, I now have a spare for my wagen...beware sedan owners, as it'll look kinda dorky IMHO

I hadn't thought about the aesthetic side - the ML is so tall it's not noticeable in any bubbleheaded way. In fact it looks kind of cool. And, BTW, IMHO, short of putting tiny wheels & tires that stick out 8 inches from the fenders on yer 500, I don't think there's much you could do to make it look dorky! (As in 'Yeah, man, all time state of the art Benz there, except, s******, that deflector!') But anyway, don't you think the noise reduction is worth the slight aesthetic change? No you say?! Oh well. I found that the downside of the deflector is when washing the ML, water tends to collect on the inside of the deflector, right over the seam between the sunroof and the sheet metal. Kinda scary, that! I'll use the deflector for the remainder of the warm weather and tuck it, and the bug deflector away for the winter. BTW if there are 2 downsides to an ML they are the amount of bugs that they catch, and the amount of time it takes to wash one. It takes literally twice the time as the 300TE did. Good thing I enjoy car washing as a type of therapy…..

C'mon Michael, you know you ditched the deflector off the 500E somewhere around 150-155mph...j/k
