Lowering 116- how? no springs exist

What are my options for lowering a w116? I have seen photos of lowered 116s, and I find the look alone worth the modification. It is funny- my inspiration has been 6.9s with faulty suspensions, but I have seen a lowered 280S and a 450sel, and I like the look. I am not talking about a drastic drop, but just a moderate sports drop. Even with, say, 15" 126 rims, the lowered 116 gains a lot in the looks department. 17" monoblocks would probably make the car look like a respectable Frankencar. I have done some research on the internet, but most of the available information is for Honda's or muscle cars. This car is strictly a pleasure car, and is non-collectible, but I am still trying to restore it and add a bit of custom flavor to it (yes, I am young, but why else would I be pouring money into a 30 year old car?). Any info for custom suspension modifications would be appreciated.

Cut the stock ones?

Take a look at the rear suspension closely....notice there are no Toe or camber adjustments....

Lower the car and you are going to have tire wear issues you can't adjust to correct.

Of course if you like buying tires every year then it may not matter.
