$38,000 for an '86 300E. If five speeds are worth that much, I'm selling mine. I'll take only $35,000 for my '88 US five speed.

Have a great day,

I'd only pay em $3800 for it with the body kit on... I'd pay up to $10,000 without the body kit or paint. LOL

Jokes aside, the particular bodykit he has on, do you guys think it is a genuine Koenig-Specials bodykit for the W124, and that is why he is askin' such a high price? Just wondering...

Someone should e-mail this guy and see why the price is so high. Maybe it is a tunner car or something.
Check it out.

As in tunner car I ment that someone may had done some engine work and then put that hidious body kit on it.
Not at all that the tunner would put that kit on.

The reason I was asking if it was a tuner car is that the particular "look" that the car we are talkin' about is characteristic of Koenig-Specials. I think everybody remember Koenig-Specials right? They are still around. I can't find a specific W124, but here is a M-B with that same sorta "look" done by Koenig-Specials:

I'm guessin' the car that is bein' sold is some sorta knockoff of the Koenig-Specials...

to KOENIG or not to KOENIG

As far as I am concerned it doesn't matter whether the car is prepared by any well known and well paid tuner...as long as they turn a car into something that looks like this particular (testarossa wanna-be) vehicle it is worth nothing!
Does anyone remember what Koenig did with the 107-SL in the past? I am not surprised that we don't hear a lot from them anymore!
If the engine is tuned as well, it can be sold separately, the rest has to be taken to a junk yard (get that polyester recycled).

For anyone out there, who did not check this link yet: try it and you will get a good laugh for sure!

I've seent hat body kit at erebuni corp for like less than $1500.

Take a 5k car, add 1500, add another few grand on the wheels, so lets say 10k so far. tack on that obvious nasty paint job, and maybe just maybe the guy spent 13k on it.

If there are engine mods, then maybe the car is worth a bit more, but for 38k, I'll pick up a 92 500E and a nice 300E instead. Two cars for the price of 1! hehe

Hell I'd grab a 1990 500SL before I'd even think about that car.

Like I said before 3800 with the kit and paint, 10k without it. LOL

You ever get the feeling that some people just have no taste?

Whether this guy spent his own cash to have this done or just bought it that way really is something to ponder! It looks like a JOKE. The price is so high because he probably has about 10k in the sound system, "Tuner"? Haha.

I think this one qualifies for Clinton's, "Hall of Shame" at http://mb190.tripod.com/.

Before I even looked up the phone number I said to myself, "Florida car for sure!". Guess what, its a Miami, Dade County number, say's it all doesn't it? Shall we say "Pimp-Mobile" (no disrespect intended to the Dade County members here!).

Thanks for the link Subman, I needed a good chuckle tonight!

Ross

Engine Mods?!? What I've seen over the years is that a car that looks like this probably has a tired, neglected, worn out stock drive train. All the attention went into the geegaws. They probably have not so much as changed the oil and air filter.

Very sad,

The picture DuckMuck included is very nice. Very smooth. Does not look cheap. The $38000 car is the opposite. It reminds me of the many kids driving around with "robot" look alike body kits on there Hondas. Not that my opinion matters to anyone but myself, but I am all for fixing up your car. But I think it should enhance the cars original lines. Kind of like putting catsup on a good steak. If the owner didn't like the basic lines of the Mercedes, he could have(should have) destroyed another car... andy
