I've purchased thicker E55 swaybars for installation in my E300 turbodiesel. The front one went in fine. I'm having a heck of a time removing the old rear bar. I've removed all the mounting hardware, but with the way it's sandwiched between the subframe and body underside I haven't been able to get the old one out. Will I have to drop the subframe to remove it or is there some way that I haven't figured out? HELP!!!!

If its anything like the W124, and I believe it is, it has more or less the same mutilink configuration, your gonna have to drop the frame. Its not a DIY like the front sways.

Hopefully you guys can help me too. I have a Euro '97 E 300 Turbodiesel. At the ends of the front anti-roll bar there are vertical struts, about 6" long, connecting to the wishbones. There are rubber bushings at the top and bottom of each strut. I wish to replace these bushings. Local MB dealer can only supply bushings with complete struts but that's okay at about$10 each. The part number is 210 320 3789. I then asked about the same part from an E55AMG. The E55 part numbers are 210 230 2189 and 210 320 2289. Do you know if these are compatible, (and why there are Two part numbers) ??? Can have the standard parts off the shelf tomorrow, but would rather research this a little first, if it will improve handling further.

Eddie,

No need to change the "end links" on the front sway bar. The ones on the E55 and E300 turbodiesel are identical, and I reused them with no problem whatsoever.

Just fyi, when removing end links from the front bar, keep track of which one is which for reinstallation as the left and right end links are DIFFERENT, and not interchangeable left to right- hence the different part numbers!) They are pretty hard to remove and reinstall and you don't want you to have fix an error after installation!

Thanks again for the advise, that will save time and grief. Didn't get the parts yet due to a truckers protest yesterday. Now that diesel has hit about 75 cents a LITRE they're hurting. FYI unleaded about 85 cents. That's in your money.
