Just had the wierdest thought. I mean, all these tuners out here are making all these incredible MB beasts (right now using the CLK platform) and are making a killer doing it.

I mean, Start off with a CLK 55, and then RENNTech the engine to a 6.0 with about 410hp and 460lb ft. of Torque. Then take it over to Lorinser or Stillen and drop a supercharger on to the car. A stillen charger moves a stcok 4.3 to 510hp, and torque to 450. Now That charger on a 6.0 tuned RENNTech, and I think you are looking at 600hp+ in a CLK

Anybody with large amount of $$$ willing to try my theory out, please let me know. Hey maybe we can get Motor Trend to sponsor us, just a wild thought to toss out

Yeah, I know what you mean.

As soon as I win the lottery, ...... twice! I have already thought of the possibilties.

Take the 4-matic platform (doesn't take a rocket scientist to know your are going to need 4-wheel drive), from a E-Class and modify and beef everything up to take the HP. With all the mods it makes no difference where you start.

Bore and stroke the motor setting the compression up for 8-15 lbs of boost for the Supercharger (turbo for high speed, i.e. not the US) and maybe a little Nitrous for a real heart stopping experience. Find a Six speed or go auto, drivers choice, but hey "Heel and Toe" driving is something I do every downshift all day, why take the joy out of such a car? I pick the Six-speed. I hear some Formula-1 teams use a 7 speed, why not try to have one built while we are at it, just another set of gears and internals with a recast bell housing?

Throw all this in a CLK/C/E/S Class and add your tuned suspension. Go with the the new Ceramic brakes and add hte largest wheel/tire combo that will work for everyday life (if you plan on daily driving this beast).

We should be looking at 800-900 hp, not some wimpy 650-700 BMW/McLaren stuff!! If you can get that out of a big block American engine with the above mods on pump gas, you should be able to do it with a Mercedes.

Now, here is the real problem, you need a way to show off all this hardware and what better way than to have, you guessed it, a racing series for MercedesShop Members!!

Limerock, Sebring, Laguna Seca, out in the street? J/K

Next, if you have this find of dough laying around, we can make a couple of calls and shoot some money in the right direction at the state officials of your choosing to get the speed limit ABOLISHED! Nevada and Montana are the best chances. Start the campaign to achieve this with a patition including local residents to include a raffle of a identical build machine of the one I mentioned, and that should cover all the speed freaks?

Back to reality! Somebody needs to get their "tuner" act together and really start making some attainable hardware with some serious HP, including older model coverage. Then we will pound BMW into submission!!!!

Hey, you did say this was a Dream didn't you?

Ross

I figure that anyone who has a tuned car like the ones mentioned, needs a lot of $$$. Not only for getting the car, but especially for keep on driving it...It will cost you a fortune in fines!!!

As far as the wagons go; Audi and Volvo have a "race"-avant/estate in their model line...but I know, they are not benzes (dammed fast though)...

greetingz,

For me, I'd be happy with my own 420SEL with the following mods:

Replace stock 4.2L engine with 5.5L AMG engine

Replace stock exhaust with AM6 exhaust

Replace stock suspension with AMG suspension

The 5.5 puts out almost 320hp and 350 torque I think, compares with 205hp and 228 torque for the 4.2.

I'd also do the AMG brake upgrade and swith to 17 inch AMG wheels.

Yes I hate getting picked on by the "lets debadge a 500E ot E55 with E300 Turbo Diesel badges" The new diesels are fast, and I got my E300 because it was a great all around deal, with Starmark might I add. I'll be selling it though (possibly soon) and getting a E320, or lets see, 500E! That is if I can find one anywhere near N.Y.

none was taken all I wanted to do is elaborate on the fact that Diesels are not always slow. I'm selling it though possibly soon. I really like the idea though.

I have always wanted to make a 500CE or something like it.

Would be nice to do a full conversion to 500E specs for suspension brakes, fenders, engine, tranny, differential, and all.

I always wished mercedes had made a 500CE as a factory car. would have been a real hot car.

Though a Renntech Super tuned car would be the bomb. I'd love to see a fully tweaked Renntech V-12 of monstrous proportions in an SL but the Car was rebuilt to be a coupe with no convertible. I think that would be a sweet car as well.
