Has anyone ever dealt with Jetchip.com?They have a performance chip for my '87 300E but they want the brainbox sent to them for reprogramming. I would do it but am leery about having my vehicle disabled for 2 plus weeks.........

too bad they can't send you a replacement computer with like a $100 core charge hehe. that would make it so much easier wouldn't it.

Careful with 300 chip
Be careful. We need to get someone knowledgeable on board to help with this one. On your car, I believe that the ignition timing is controlled by a seperate processor not contained in your "box". The only thing that your box controls is your mixture (leanness/richness). So if they are doing any tweeking, it must be by making your car run richer in certain instances, which will result in reduced mileage. Most successful chip mods work more by tweeking your timing than your mixture (although they do tweek both), which is not possible on your car. Someone who knows more please help, because if I'm wrong, I would be interested in one of these chips as well.

PaulReynolds, I'm with you on that one. I'm extremely conservative regarding what I'll do to my car and will definitely wait until I can get some answers regarding this chip.
