Today I met Agron, and we had some Lunch and B/S about MBZ's and our shop forum un general. Also I showed Agron a very nice open road "Ocean Parkway / Jones Beach" He pushed his machine up to 120 mph, and the car was SILK SMOOTH. I am amazed that a "old" 12 year old car can perform so well. MBZ is the best! Agron even drove with one hand on the stering wheel and the other on his gear selector. His car is mint and a great runner, only thing is that he thinks his car "max's out at 130, that is not the case, I read that 300E's can do 139-142 wide open. Mercedesshop.com NY chapter is planning a get together at the end of February or March. What would be best for all members. Also we must think up of ideas of what to do.

You can reach me at (516) 503 2191, or Agron at (917) 705 7253. Agron's a great guy, and I'm sure all other members are alike so lets get together! I need feedback, as to when would be best for you, all perhaps the weekend(s) or Friday afternoons.?

Friday afternoons would suck for me. I don't finish work till late on Friday . But Satarday afternoon would be perfect, may be even this coming one.
Still considering going to Gergia for the grand opening. I wonder if Benzmac will be able to do some work on our cars during that weekend besides all other festivities. Than I would defenately save up some money do a tunup for my suspention.

However it must be done with extreme caution! We could also have lunch or something. One problem, however; what else can we do, we must think up of some ideas.

Alex

Why do you doubt these old 300Es.
Mine with 177,900 miles and never had the cam cover off is still a beast.
Joanie and I were getting onto I-45 last week and the traffic wasn't.
I used the manual shift techniqic so not to distrube my bride of 45 years, I started in first gear and maxed out in every gear.
I played it cool, one hand on the wheel the other on the schtick.
Oh how smooth and quite it was. A feeling not felt in the USA.
Joanie nudged me as He passed the 122 mph mark as was still trying for more.
I feel He has to be allowed to stretch His legs at least once a week.
I know I've made some minor mods, but this is the way a well maintained W124030 behaves.
On the conservative side, He will go alday at 70mph with A/C and give me 27-29.7 mpg.
Don't tell the the buying public for there may be a run on 300Es.
Happy Trails Beep Beep from smootheee Houston!!!
