If you can get the one out of my W203 without ruining anything and it will fit your car, you can have mine for nothing. I ended up buying a car that was coming in because I needed a car at the time, so I accepted this ridiculous option.

I wouldn't spend ten cents or 5 minutes to retrofit one.

Also, the first time you forget and raise it with something laying on top of it, it will be ruined.

My $0.02,

Ronald,

I got your mail (thanks for the compliment) and will answer it here:
The power rear sunshade can be bought at any MB dealer and comes together with frame/motor. This complete sunshade device is easy to install, however...

You need 1) the wire harness (a simple harness containing only a few wires connected to ground, power and dash lights), 2) the switch, 3) an additional self-filed hole in your dash panel (center console panel for pre 96 models and transmission console panel for after 95 models) and last but not least 4) a new rear deck! The rear deck for the sunshade equipped models has got an opening across the complete width of the rear deck for the sunshade to get out...

Everything can be ordered at the MB dealer or any equivalent shop, but it will cost you a lot I guess. The complete system is OEM W202 and dos not need to be converted.
You better look for a complete system at a car-dismantle-shop (or however it is called).

greetingz,

hahah, you too huh! I was looking into that cuz my "you raise it manually" sun shade is to crazy to use. I put it up in the day and at night I have to remember to lower it before i drive.....

If the kit wasnt too expensive I'd retrofit it. Or maybe Ill just go ahead an motorize my stock one.

MBenz: man I totally went on my own with the phone adaptor and it had 3 out comes... 1) it would work 2) Id fry the audio in my car 3) I'd fry my phone..... the outcome 3.... ah the smell of ozone.... fortunate for me the phone didnt fry to bad as I was able to turn it on after 30minutes..... now im asking myself do i really want to try this again.

NOKIA8860,

If I may ask: what do you want to do with your phone?? Exchange the system or the phone (hook) only?

...ozone...
...did you have the real ozone; with smoke and all?

greetingz,

Mbenz: I want to replace the factory phone with my own phone. So Im trying to figure out the wires on the car so that I can hook it up to my phone.

I think I'll chill for a bit, I'm not rich by anymeans and cant afford frying phones or cars.

Yes, the car had to be re-alingned after it was lowered.
