190e 16V clutch
Hi guys. I have one question about a clutch I saw for sale on pitstopautoparts.com in their performance section. It is an exedy clutch and apparently it is much better than the stock clutch. I asked the place selling it if they knew how much horsepower it handled and they didnt know. I sent Exedy an email and they still havent replied so I just wanted to know if anyone knows what the maximum horsepower the exedy clutch can withstand. I was looking for one that will last up to about 350hp. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the link to the clutch.

Horsepower is irrelevant unless you are talking about the clutch's ability to dissipate heat while you slip the clutch.
You want to figure out how much torque your engine is going to produce and get a clutch that can transmit that torque. It may require a phone call to the manufacturer, or more patience in waiting for the return email. Thanks for the link, I was wondering where I'd get a flywheel for my 2.5 turbo, and there is a full clutch/flywheel kit, right above the 16v kit on the page you linked. I'm kind of in the same boat you are in, I'll need a 300ft-lb clutch, and I'd like a lightweight flywheel too. (the 2.5 diesel crank is very heavy, the engine will probably run fine with no flywheel at all)

thulkkonen, I'm also looking for a clutch kit that can handle 350 - 400hp and 300+ lbf torque. If you get a reply from Exedy please inform us of the answer.
