I was doin' my usual surfin' of the internet, and came upon Bellof's HID conversion kit...what caught my eye was that they offer a H4 (duel beam) kit, which I think will allow you to have both high AND low beam after the conversion, BOTH HID, unlike other kits where we lose the high beams after conversion. I think the only Mercedes-Benz offered with BOTH high and low beam HID are the CL coupes...anyways, please check this link out and tell me your opinions:

Thanx a lot!

hmm, sounds like a great invention. We can mount the controller boxes easily, the bulbs go right in, and I'm sure the wiring is explained. But I think what is also important is the aiming of the reflector and the heat that the bulb runs (hotter?). The stock reflectors are designed so that a standard bulb will position the filament at the focal point. This is to get light to the right places. If the HID kit places the light source at the right location, then it works out pretty well.

Thanks for the info, I will look into it more. The prices are about half of what you would pay for a complete kit, but that also includes the whole lamp fixture. Makes HID's a possibility for a lot of cars though.

Interesting!!! Price in Canadian, too. $1600 for High/Low beam conversion is not a bad price, I guess. But I wonder how well, HID would work with the beam pattern on the lenses of the headlights.

This sure would work great in my Euro lights on my 240D, problem is, at that price it would be like putting a $100 saddle on a $10 horse.

Thanks for the information,

thanks for the temp info. Now about the lens aiming and all that..I guess we have to wait until people start using these to see if they're any good.

If you do a search on euro lighting You'll find a link to a site that tells you how to align them. I'd send you a thread but I dont have alot of time to search and find.
