adjusting mixture on 2.3-16

Hello,

Last weekend, i put one of my 190 2.3-16 on a Dyno stand.

It pulled 155 hp at the wheels (euro, non-cat car), which is not bad for a car that has done 250.000 kilometers, and is from 1985.

however, the fuel mixture was to lean all the way.
So far the car runs good, but to improve engine life i would like to adjust the mixture a bit richer.
I dont care about milage, as this car is only driven for fun and track use.
However i WOULD like a few more horses, and an engine which runs a bit cooler (richer mixture).

Now I need help with modifying the injection system. It's a KE jetronic.
How can i make the mixture richer?
maybe a picture would help...

thanks!

you'll want to adjust your EHA (black box on the side of the fuel distributor).

I beleive there are threads on it already but the quick and dirty, remove the EHA (don't loose the seals!). Remove small brass flat head screw, turn 2.5mm hex head 1/4 turn to the right. Re-install/test

This only for full throttle enrichment or all throttle positions?

The CO setting does it's part from 0-2500RPM (although the EHA does effect it as well), after that it's straight EHA. Typically what happens if you richen the EHA considerably you then have to back off on the CO to get the car to idle properly.

I beleive ALDA stands for Altitude Level Density Adjustment...or I may have just made that up in my head..the coffee is still brewing;-)

Hrm, sounds pretty simple! I've known these vehicles with the CIS run pretty lean at WOT and was curious how to remedy this.

Any picture by chance of the EHA? What about where could I purchase the CO driver?

Thanks!

Do not worry about the grammar.

This will be done to the 420SEL, hopefully will give it a nice kick in the pants.

Where are the connectors on a 1987 300E and a 1986 420SEL?
