Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. When you registered you agreed to these terms:

Although the administrators and moderators of the Shop Forum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of MercedesShop.com, LLC nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The owners of MercedesShop.com, LLC reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. All posts and threads become the property of MercedesShop.com, LLC once posted on this site.

General Comments

The primary purpose of this Forum is to act as an educational forum for the exchange of information for all things Mercedes. All are encouraged to participate in this information exchange in the spirit of openness and fun. Keeping this place a comfortable and enjoyable place on the Internet to spend your time is strongly encouraged. Emotional outbursts and personal attacks are not. ATTRIBUTIONS: Portions of these rules were given to us to use by Bill Morrow at the Thinkpad Forums.

Cardinal Rules

Transgressions here will result in banning, serious trangressions will result in a permanent ban.

1. The Registration Agreement Terms (this document) must be respected in full.

2. "Trolling" is not permitted. "Trolling" is defined as an inflammatory post used strictly for the purpose of irritating other members. The moderator of the respective forum will have the final determination of whether "trolling" was utilized for a specific post.

3. Ad hominem and personal attacks are not permitted. Criticize the ideas, not the people. An ad hominem attack is a logical fallacy describing the attempt to discredit an argument by merely attacking the credibility of the arguer. Excessive flaming will not be tolerated. Users who verbally assault the character or person of other posters on a regular basis will be banned. Moderator's judgment applies here. "You are wrong" is not a personal attack; "You're wrong because you are an idiot" is.

4. Personal attacks and/or harrassment directed towards a moderator will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban.

5. No pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or objectifying material. Moderator's judgment applies here. We'd like for our readers to be able to read the forum at work and share with friends without fear of retribution.

6. Do not post links or requests for stolen vehicles, parts or software.

7. Respect the privacy of others. Do not post other's phone numbers, addresses, pictures, etc., without their express permission.

8. Each forum member may maintain only one account.

9. Each forum member must maintain e-mail. All users must provide a current, frequently read e-mail address in his/her internal profile. Note that non-moderators do not have access to your internal e-mail address (which is separate from "Display e-mail"). Accounts having invalid email addresses are subject to deletion.

10. Do not place foul language in thread subjects.

11. No spamming. No commercial-oriented posts. The Classifieds forums are for NON COMMERCIAL sale of personal vehicles or parts. Do not flood the forums with useless content or content designed to engage readers into forum wars or trolling.

12. DO NOT attempt to subvert, modify, or disrupt the normal flow or display of the Shop Forum or its content.

13. If a moderator deems that your post has violated the rules of this forum, they will delete the post, or request that you modify the post in a timely manner. Failure to modify the post when specifically requested WILL RESULT in a ban of up to 30 days.

14. Repeated violations of the rules of this forum WILL RESULT in a permanent ban.

Compulsory Rules

Transgressions here may result in banning.

1. Use descriptive subject lines and research your post. This reduces the chances of double-posting, and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Also, scan the subjects of the last several days' posts to make sure you aren't duplicating posts.

2. Post in the right forum! If it's about a diesel Mercedes, post it in the Diesel Discussion forum. Even if it's only humor, an observation, or angst, if it's about something that we have a forum for, post it there.

3. Restrict the use of excessive foul language in posts. Family members of all ages may be viewing this forum.

4. No blatantly juvenile toilet humor. Moderator's judgment applies here.
