Hi Anybody know if C-class W202 share the same side view mirrors (exterior mirror) with E-Class W210...?
Also Does the side mirror of W210 year 2000 (the face lifted model) will fit into 96-99 W210

Thanks for the info
Regards,

J Irwan

Junaidi,

The mirrors are not entirely the same, but it is possible to mount the newer W210 side mirrors (with the additional indicators) on your W202 or on any W210.
The mirror will only need additional wires for the indicators.
If my european C class didn't have the side indicators on the front fenders, I would definitely mount the newer W210 mirrors.

The newer mirrors are shaped differently, so you have to buy a complete mirror (left and right). If you do it right, you buy yourself some auto dimming side mirrors (while you are at it), but these only function in combination with the auto dimming rear view mirror (so forget that remark).
The mirror glasses are different, and the mirror motors will be different as well (mercedes likes to change everything by detail so that the true enthusiastic has to buy the whole LOT when he wants to modify something).

I am not entirely sure about the (3) bolt positions, but I think they are exactly the same for the W202 and the W210 (I can have a look tomorrow at my dads W210 (it is 0.30h now) if you want me to).

I think you will have to face the purchase of two new side mirrors that will cost some US$250 (each) or something like that. I have seen a post somewhere on the net of somebody who did this as well, but I do not know where exactly...

greetingz,

edit found it: side mirrors with indicators...

greetingz,

Any ideas on where to get the M3 style mirrors for the W202?

I've seen alot of them around in Toronto and was wondering if anyonme knew where to get them.

I found them on a website once but i can;t find that URL.

Yes it is powered and heated as well and does not need modification.

Hagus brings these M3 mirrors on the market. I have been thinking to install these as well (with the box and mirrors in my hand) but thought they would be to BMW-ish...so I turned and walked out of that shop again.

there are a lot of threads about these mirrors (and the availability of them) on the web, most of them are US-threads...take a look on the W202 page of mbnz.org

Rocky,
when you said "Yes it is powered and heated as well and does not need modification."
Do you mean W201 (early model) and W202 share the exact same mirrors, that can be interchangeable for both cars...?
And about the Hagus mirrors (M3 style) I agree with with MBenz. The reason being is, that it doen't look as good in Mercedes as in BMW.
PS: if you still want it check out this website: http://www.autob1.com (under Mercedes --> Exterior). Good Luck.

I don't think w202 and w201 mirrors are identical.

What i meant was that since i have power and heated mirrors, that hagus m3 style mirrors can be used with the power and the heater.

Junaidi, are you changing from W210 mirrors to W201 mirrors or was this just a typing mistake (since the W201 never had an early model)...The W201 and W202 mirrors are different anyway...

Hi MBenz
Yes it was a mis-type
I am wondering if the early W210 mirror is interchangeable with W202 mirror.

I suspected that early W210 and the later W210 will most liekly interchangeable, since they don't actually change the front door design.

My Intention is to put W210 (late model) mirrow (the one that has the blinkers) on my W202 C-Class. I want something that will be perfect fit (direct bolt-on without any modification). The reason for no modification is that I can't afford any wind noises if they are not perfect fit, since I like to drive at high speed.

Actually I prefer to put W203 mirror on my W202 but unfortunately I still don't have any confirmation if W203 and W202 mirrors are interchangeable. In my opinion W203 mirror looks better because of the longer shape of the blinker.

If anybody can confirm either one or both of this issue, it will be most appreciated.
Regards,

J Irwan

According to the person that has the information on the link posted above (in one of my threads) the W203 mirrors fit any 1993-2000 W202 C class. The only thing that has to be modified is the wiring ...
If you email that person who calls himself DMMmotorsport, you should get an answer.
As far as I know are the mirrors of the W210 and W202 equal. The mirrors of the early and late W210 are bolted on in the same way. The W203 mirrors have the same three bolts...(have to look first to be sure, but someone has done the change already).

BTW, I will take some pics of my bumper lights and mail them to you so you can compare them with yours. I still believe that the US auxiliary fog lights are just plain high beam lights...

MBenz,
Thank for the info.
I guess I am just trying to be perfectly sure before I purchased any of those mirrors.
The DMM Motorsport guy never reply me other than saying that the mirror are sold. I even requested some pic of his W202 with W203 mirrors, but no replied so far.

And about those US bumper fig-light, I actually have 2 brochure (in Germany), that I bought from a guy from Netherland.
That should be the same as your , right..!? and they are no different than mine. I think I have to readjust them so they face down a little bit more.

anyway, please let me know when you figured out for sure that the mirrow (W210 vs W202) are the same.
BTW, any new with the rear sunshade yet..?
Thanks, Steve
Regards,

J Irwan

Junaidi,

I had a look at the early and late W210 mirrors yesterday and they are bolted on the same way as the W202 C class. I had a look at the W203 as well and they also seem to be equal. I have made some pictures of the W210 mirror mounting plate and emailed them to you.

I have made some pics of the W202 AMG bumper light (high beam) and some pics of the R129 SL bumper light (fog light). If you take a close look at the lenses, you can see the difference between the clear high beam lenses and the thick, vertical lined fog light lenses. If your C has the clear lenses, you can adjust them all the way down without having a proper pattern ever (I wonder why the US calls them auxiliary fog lights???).

The OEM power rear sunshade can be added to your car. You need a switch and different console panel (pre "96) or gearbox panel (after "95) to locate the switch (I send you a pic of my panel with switch). You need the additional wire harness (verrrry easy wiring), the original rear sunshade (comes with the motor) and last but not least , you need a different rear deck (pic send by mail).
The rear deck is the biggest bummer in this modification story...

greetingz,
