So the 24th is the date...time to shake off the snow and heat this beast up. I am going Lime Rock to put this baby on the track and see what we can do.This weekend I will pop off the 17" P7000s and mount the 18" Pilot Sports....car now has 3000 miles and new Mobil 1....Motor just keeps getting stronger and the sound gets deeper....this will be a series of lapping sessions with other sports cars on the track....it's going to be interesting to see who shows up and how the 55 matches up.
I have several hundred laps on the track...mostly in formula cars...so the CLK is going to feel huge...Daruis and few others are going to be there...George from GT motors will be driving his BMW and acting as my mechanic....planning on mounting a video camera in car....so maybe we can post some action shots....also hope to do some 1/4 mile runs over the weekend...I have the G-tech ready....we may run Darius' 430 to compare...Stay Tuned!!!

So I can only guess that you're going to have a FUn Fun Fun time there.! MBZ rates the CLK 55 AMG's 0-60 as about 5.0 seconds right guys? I rad a magazine where the BMW M5 does 0-60 in 4.6 seconds? Is that B/S, because that magazine also made the CLK 55 the second lsowest car out their. (They compared the M5, Jag XKR (supercharged one) and the Vett Z06. The Benz was down there along with the Jag. Uhh thats terrible, I hate when other cars a favored.

After the first service you'll feel the power.

yeah... we are going to find out...one guy has already registered at time 4.46 in a stock-tired 55 with only 1000 miles on it using a G-tech, his slowest was 4.84 so it is going to be interesting to see what we come up with both in lap times, 0-60 and 1/4.

JCO: Spoke to the club on Sunday. They had about 20 spots open. Right now, my poor old back is out, but if I'm feeling better in time to prep the car for a track run, I'll be there. I've never taken the MB to a road course, but as far as I can tell, the brake fluid needs to be upgraded to ATE Gold or super blue or equiv. I don't think the OE fluid can handle those high temps...

zrusny,

I checked the brake fluid, OEM on the CLK 55 is .4
400 degree....my mechanic says will be just fine.
Particularly if you don't haver alot of miles on the car.
I would imagine that the E55 comes with the same.

In any case the event may be postponed due to flooding at the track...will know for sure by noon today.
