Increasing acceleration

Whats the most effective way of majorly increasing acceleration...not talking turbos or engine swaps. Little things I can do.

People have always recommended to me removing as much weight as possible from the car... back seats, passenger seat, door panels, carpet, sound proofing, spare wheel etc....
You could also get a first gear start module depending on your car (or just shift to B manually), change your diff ratio, install an LSD if you have one wheel spinning when pulling away, and just generally make sure your engine is in tip top order... good ignition leads, cap, arm, plugs etc. Clean oil, and your timing is set for the fuel you use the most.

Hope this helps
