Joey,

Did you stick out that muffler that far on purpose?
As you know, I have the Sebring DTM-style muffler and I had to install the muffler quiet low to get the upward bended pipes not to touch the bumper. I couldn't put the muffler further back because of the exhaust pipe touching the front of the spare wheel trunk floor...

I got used to the pipes sticking out just a little from the rear of the bumper, but your muffler sticking out from the bend in the pipes looks good as well...

greetingz,

Nokia, where did you purchase your muffler from? I am interested in one of these for my 1987 300E, but I cannot find a source here. Also, how did it change the sound of your exhaust? Thanks

MBenz: Yeah it was more personal prefrence for me to stick out the pipe a little more. The tips are actaully a nice size for the rear of the car dual 3". It really give the rear a aggressive look to them.

Chris, the muffler is made by arospeed call them up to see if they have a retailer near you.

I also wrote about my 3 day driving experience with it. You might want to read it to see if this muffler is what you want.

Well the exhaust mod I made on my w124030 can't be seen only heard.
A small purr at idle and a pleasant growl on the road. Ofcourse you can't hear it in the cab.
I feel that my name El Cheapo doesn't belong with this set because my exhaust mod cost me a whopping $100.00.
I removed the mid-muffler and replaced it with a 3 inch "Y" from the cats outlets to the rear muffler's inlet.
It still looks OEM.
The mid-muff was still in greatr shape as are the cats and rear muffler. I wanted to see what performance improvement it would make and Yippee.
When these fail I'll do a dual set both exiting the drivers side; but they are 13 years old and have 174,100 miles today, and using the hammer to test they are still sound.
El Cheapo stuck again.
Happy Trails Beep Beep from Houston!!!
