Talking Has anyone swapped a nissan RB26DETT in a 300E?

Just wondering? Those nissan skylines can make insane power and there is a TON of performance parts out for them. Stock they make around 300 hp plus they sound crazy wicked:fork_off: no one would think that a 300 E would have that under the bonnet when you say it's a I6

There's a mechanic dude in Thailand who posted a thread on an inline-6 Toyota engine conversion, in I think a W126. Could've been a W124, though.

If you're good with the search function, you'll find it.

He posted nice pics, too.

I don't think people would do that when it's much easier to buy a 124 - like a 500 - with a very powerful V8 already in it, and then tune that, instead of adapting a completely different engine and transmission to the 124 body. It might be a fun idea though if you had a 124 with a blown engine...

I was just wondering cuz when the 3.0 go's bad I was thinking about the skyline and how kool and different it would be to put that in the 300E and we have a bit of time left before that and this is a new idea.

my friends uncle was the mechanic at the place. i found out about it here is some info:

1. good engine were swapped out because of expensive maintainance parts, also thailand taxed cars based on engine size. they had a nice 560SEC that was running that they were gonna gut out.

2.the toyota 1jz and 2 jz were the most common swap.

3. they were kinda ghetto'd basically they leave the trans and have the "toyota" shifter poking up. u can see the floor at an angle just attach the diff to the toyota tran i guess. oh and they are usually automatics.

4. speedo is hooked up but no accurate. aftermarket tach

note the 2 pictures are of different cars: (one has a turbo one doesn't)

didn't see any of these run but i did see a old beat up volvo 240 with a twinturbo supra engine. BIG BIG exaust, so big they don't even fart, more like a straight pipe big. it was sticking sideways since they didn't have enough mounting room. it went like STINK!

LOL OK I know that that the one with the Toyota engine is not stock thats a Toyota shifter there. We wanted to try and keep it as stock as possible if there is a way to get a adapter plate to make it work that would be cool but if not we can get the transmission with the skyline engine.
Oh and I cant get a good close up look at the Japanese tuner pics to see if that is stock or not I am guessing that it is not I bet it may be easier to just use the skyline GTS trans with the 300E. I wish I could just get a wrecked Skyline GTS to strip for parts lol.
