An intresting story Phil at fastlane mentioned that one of his clients switched switched the sides the USA wiper motors were on and shimmed them till he was able to bring the wiper blade to the glass lenses. Oh and yes I intend to replace the lower filler panels with up dated 1994-1995 panels with the correct holes for the new position the euro wipers line up to.

What I am most intrested in is can I switch sides the USA wiper motors are on and make them work, savinga considerible cost of purchasing two new wiper motors from a 1994-1995 W124.

Has anyone done this?

For the W126 cars, I don't know how that could be done.

I did the switch to euro lights, but not the euro light wipers. To it right you need a new header panel (below the grille) with new holes drilled for the euro wipers to mount, and then to get it repainted in yolur car's color. Either that or fill in with body putty the US wiper holes on the panel and drill new ones for the Euro, then paint the header panel. I kind of wish I'd spent the extra $200-$300 to have it done, as the euro wipers look so much better than the American ones, with the euro light conversion.

One guy decided to remove the wipers, fill in the header panels and simply do without the headlight wipers, euro or American. As an aesthetic choice, it was a good one. The SEC coupes look real good with euro lights and without
any headlight wipers, be they euro or American

What car do you have?
Its outlined very well in a thread re: W124 somewhere. May also be in 126 I dunno.

Lots of info there if you have time search for it. I remember the bracket description. I elected to leave out the wipers on my 124 so I bought blank panels from Phil, that's easier than messign with the brackets and in my opinion more esthetically pleasing.

I too have changed out the headlights to the euro models. Difference like night and day. I took the wiper motors to a friend who is a machinest, and he cut the length down on the shaft and rethreaded it to make it work for the new headlights. Easy and cheap fix! I needed to relocate the shaft hole where it comes through the sheetmetal, so I have an extra hole with a grommet on the front panels below the headlights, but everything works great.
I did this on my 1990 300ce. Best investment I have done to date!
