The Kings of Aftermarket Mercedes

Hey everyone,

I've been researching and browsing lately a little more than usual on Mercedes that have been modified aftermarket. (I think reading about the "Hammer" caught my curiosity ) I was just curious to know a) How many actual companies there are that actually modify the majority of the mechanics in their cars (re-sell the cars with new badging) and b) Which of these brands you consider to be the best? (Which company holds the most lucrative badge) To my knowledge, the major companies I can think of are AMG, Brabus, WALD and Lorinser)

Thanks!!

Did RennTech do as much work as the others?

Not entirely sure what you mean by lucrative (are you looking for the tuner that makes the most sales?) here....but the major aftermarket tuners are:
AMG
Brabus
Carlsson
HPS (supercharger kits and upgrades only)
Renntech
Kleemann
Lorinser (although I wouldn't look to them for anything but aesthetic mods)

Wald does almost nothing aside from body kits, so I don't really think that they qualify. All of the tuners I mentioned above (with the exception of Lorinser) do meaningful performance mods in addition to cosmetic work. Personally, I would stick w/ AMG (if you want a Mercedes warranty and more widely available replacement parts should anything break) and Kleemann or Renntech if you want big performance gains and more exotic mods. All are relatively expensive (starting at 15-20k for most packages with the sky pretty much being the upper limit)
