W124 Performance Models List
While researching my AMG E35 project, I started to make a list of performance stats for W124 models (>=3L engine), both stock and tuned:
Code:
Model__________________ Engine Power Torque 0-100km/h Top Speed Final Ratio |
There might be a couple, the TDI place in the UK has a TT and Supercharger setup, I dont know the site off hand. So you're doing a 3.5 conversion on the 104? Or are you getting a new 3.5 and tossing in there? Nice list btw;)

WOW! Great list! Thanks for taking the time to put it togather.
Here's the link AustinsCE was referring to: http://www.tdi-plc.com/Merc300Eclass.html If you want, you could throw in the 2.6 and the diesel, maybe the euro 200E as well. |
btw the diff ratio on the 400e [stock] is 2.24.
|
AustinsCE, I will be using the crankshaft from an AMG C36 to increase the stroke of my 3.0L M103 to 3.4L (and calling it E35 because it sounds nicer) :D
I have added the TDI supercharged M103 to the list. Their turbocharged models use the Mosselman kit judging by the performance figures. |
Gotcha, sounds good. This should be a sticky now. I dont even know how you did that with the chart. Looks nice.

Great thread. I have a M103 Coupe and might have access to two or three motors. I was thinking of tearing a good motor down and building my own custom engine. Not sure if it will go in this 1988 car I have now but I could always build the engine, sell the 88 car and buy a newer W124 Coupe and swap the motors with the custom one. I really like the idea of a cam change. And porting and polishing among others for internals. Let's get this thread going. I want to learn more about power upgrades for the venerable inline 6 M103 and M104 motor.
Also interested in springs, shocks, sway bars, rims, brakes, wheel-arch rolling, exhaust, tires, intake, headers, manifold, throttle upgrade, alt upgrade, battery upgrade, etc. Thanks Jason in Los Angeles |
I have added a few more models, including Roman's custom M103 Turbo 300E.
If anyone can fill in any of the missing data or can spot any mistakes please let me know and I will update the list. |
Are "estimated" figures to be accepted for entry onto this list or do they need to be suppported by dyno graphs, time slips etc ?
|
Estimated figures are fine, I'll just mark them as such until hard data is obtained.

Look at those numbers for torque from that modded 12. Thats things gotta have one helluva launch!

I can ad 2 more to the list :)

What about the 2.8 DOHC. that is a mighty fine engine.

The m104 2.8 liter if this is what you are talking about has the same bore and pistons as the 3.2l. The stroke is different. I actually took the crank out of a 3.0l cis m104, same as m103 and installed it with rods on 2.8 pistons. Everything fits perfectly. I have not run that motor yet, but it is assembled and
all clearences are ok. This would be a pretty cheap upgrade for 2.8 motors if you spent the time your self. I would also like to add that I am putting down 298 rwhp on my car. supercharged m104 3.2l. I will have to find the dyno graph. |
