Was doing a search on EBAY for 94-95 E420 to see what they are going for nowadays, as that's where I bought mine from.
I just ran across this 94 E500 which was posted by the same person I purchased my vehicle from. A bit expensive though considering I paid $10K less for my 94 E420.... but still a nice vehicle!!

That E500 was just listed on Traderonline last week for $31,500... I just about flipped when I saw it, cause it's my favorite color combo on the best year of that model (reduced diameter steering wheel, updated lights and grill, etc. etc.) Not to mention it's a *SMOKING* deal! Wish I could get it now, but it's kind of hard to justify, especially with the recent brake upgrades I've done to my E420. Can't wait to go autocrossing again!

happy driving,

Is Duck on the something? The rear bumper is NOT the stock '94 bumper but the '92-'93 style. What does this mean?? Read end damage?

Wow...

Now that's a keen eye. I had to go out to the garage twice to try to compare my 94 rear end to that one.

If someone has a carfax account, I'd be interested to find out what it shows.

Rear bumper???

Can someone tell me exactly what the difference is? I've been comparing the rear bumper on the eBay E500 with pictures of other E500's on the web and they look the same to me...and I usually have a very good eye for detail differences. Thanks...

What you need to do is compare the rear of this E500 to the rear of other 94-95 E class vehicles.

But the E500 did NOT receive the same wrap around bump strip and revised bumper as other E-class models...I assume due to it's low volume MB left the rear bumper the same throughout the model run. The front is different with the new hood/grill though.

I can also confirm that the 94 E500's had the same rear bumper as the 500E. Mb probably figuered making a new part for a limited model for just one model year wasn't nessacary. I just noticed this bumper thing a week ago too while looking at a few E500s

Whew!

The E500/500E has been one of my dream cars for ten years...I was beginning to doubt myself. Thanks for the clarification!

Glen,

Why didn't you modify your E320 Wagon? I think the E320 Wagon looks good with the AMG bodykit...especially the updated one...I was just wonderin'...since you seem to have devoted a lot of work to the 190E...

Well...

We just bought the wagon three weeks ago...my wife has wanted one for a long time and we finally found a nice one. I'm hoping to get some new wheels/tires in the near future and maybe a very mild lowering but that's about it. It's our primary family/commute car so it will stay mostly stock.

The speedo numbers don't look like they line up. I hear Texas is the number one state for speed fraud. I would be interested in seeing the carfax.

I went to look at this car Yesterday (5.5.2001)

Guys

I was off to Houston yesterday to look at the car but stopped to look at a 95 E420 with 49K and ASR 1st. The car fax and the books are good on the E500 but they would not give me enough for my trade (99 M Roadster) so I stopped and looked at the E420 1st I now own the E420. I may look again in a year or to for a E500 again but this was not the dealer or car for me.

I have a gift for all of you though

http://www.carfax.com/cfm/PromoPage1_New02.cfm

So now EVERYONE car pull a carfax !

I need to get a few things for my E420 now 1st a CD changer. how do I know which Radio I have without pulling it to see the #s on the back ? it is a 2/95 production car and what is the best place to get the changer ?

Monday I will start my search for the 2.82 gears out of a SL500/500SL
