SportLine option for a 2003 E320 Wagon?

We just got a used 2003 E320 wagon with 53k miles. Nice car .... but its handling needs improvement- it wallows in turns and is floating along the road.

It has a CPO used car warranty and before I take it in I wanted to know if there was are SportLine parts available.

BTW, the dealership's service department in San Francisco is VERY impressive. In helping sort out some warrantable items, the service advisor has so far, exceeded my expectations. I am VERY please with how I have been treated.

I don't think there was a Sportline edition for the wagon, but even if there were, the Sportline sedans didn't get a different suspension.

I complained about the same ride quality when I bought my 2000 E430, and quickly installed Bilstein HD's.

It did the trick.

I would immediately install Bilstein HDs like all my previous cars, but it is a wagon with rear leveling suspension.....

Oh, that's a problem.

I wonder if thicker anti-sway bars would be helpful.

I just thought of something. Mark Cummins has a W210 wagon, and he has done a lot of mods to his suspension. And I mean a lot.

In fact, I consider him an expert.

Try PM'ing him for advice.

I Have a 2000 W210 Estate with a Few Mods...

It didnt drive as good as expected so I Installed a Set of AMG E55 Sway bars front and rear.. Set of H/R Sport Springs with #1 Spring pads..Front Bilstein (SPORT) shocks as the rear is self level then a set of AMG E55 18s with 245/275 for tires

The Wagon handles FLAT on the Corners ...It Does VERY Good for a Wagon!
Out Handles a Lot of the cars out there

As for the Wallow/Floating I would say its the Side Walls on the tires as tall tires will do this (60series) The 18s Did Firm Up the Ride on the Wagon..But its still ok Per the wife....She has AMG 19s Multipiece rims on her W211

Sway bars will NOT affect the ride quality...just Improve the handling
The Shocks WILL Firm up the Ride
Short Sport Springs WILL Firm up the Ride..If You Dont want to go low try EURO AMG E55 WAGON Springs

And When You Lower it (IF You lower it) One WILL Need Mercedes Front repair bolts for camber adjustment X4

For the rear camber is NOT adjustable so I bought a set of adjustable camber bars from Speedybenz ..No More rear tire wear problems

BTW mercedes Did NOT make a SPORT or Sport Line W210 wagon/estate only the AMG E55 Wagon/Estate

Here are some of the Mods I have done to the Estate....Almost Done..lol

All The Mods are OE Mercedes

AMG E55 Estate Body kit front and rear bumpers with side skirts
AMG E55 Estate Exhaust
AMG E55 brakes
AMG E55 Sway bars
Euro Xeon Headlights
Euro Front Bumper Impact Inserts (Without The Ugly USA side markers)
AMG Monoblocks 18/8/9 245/275s
AMG E 55 Tail lights (Smoked)
Power folding Mirrors with convex glasses
Euro Comand
AMG E55 Combi
AMG E55 Steering Wheel with Leather Air Bag
Nokia MB Phone with Va kit
Heated/Multicontour/VCooled front seats
Rear Seats To Match
Black Birds Eye Maple wood to replace the brown wood
Ashtray DELETE with 12 v plug
Rear Parktronic
And My Favorite ..The TAXI option

Mark,

I've just gone thru maybe half of the photos you have up. I'm completely blown away. Are you a collector or a dealer or a Mercedes upgrade specialist? What I would give to have access to parts like that. Do you order everything thru MBZ North America [if it's still called that] or directly from Germany?
I need to put time into my 300CE or just sell it and buy a Sport C-class sedan or E430 from the late 90's. I like both cars but stock they just dont feel right. My mother in law has a 2000 C320 and my close friend has a 2000 E320, I like them a lot but they need AMG swaps. I test drove a mint low mile E 430 Sport sedan and was very impressed but it still needed work. It's a big car but it can be set-up to handle more like my old 300CE. But then again the CE has it's faults, it's nearly time to rebuild the transmission and the head. The whole motor could do with a rebuild now that I think about it.

Cheers,
Jason

6.0 liter engine?

Is this an M119, M112 engine, or perhaps the newest generation DOHC V8?

Sweet, I didn't even know there was an AMG 6.0 liter version of the M112.

I thought the AMG version of the M112 was a 5.5 liter engine. i.e. E55 AMG.

Is this a bored out version of the 5.5 liter?
