Looks very nice and clean!
What have you done with turbinhouse to make it so shiny? Some kind of anodizing?
What kind of manifold do you use?
Just one think, personaly I would not paint inside the block caurse maybe color come loose and mix together with oil. I should sandblast away it.

Hi Jay,
The port and polish on the exhaust side will only add maybe 10 to 15 CFM flow to the head. The main reason I did this was to keep carbon from building up and to direct the heat out of the head and to the turbine instead of soaking it up. I will also be using a special ceramic coating in the port as well.

As for your head. I personally think bigger valves would be a waste of money. To do it right, It would cost about $1500 to $2000 and yield very little extra HP as a standalone modification. I'd look elsewhere for some power gains.
That's my opinion..

Hi Roman,
Thanks! The turbine housing is coated with a heat resistant aluminum ceramic coating. All of my exhaust parts will have this coating to direct the heat out of the exhaust instead of in the engine bay. It's been proven to work as well as look better than wrapping the exhaust components.

The paint inside the block is called "Glyptal". It's been baked on at 450 degrees and is very tough stuff. This paint inside the block will seal the pores in the cast. Doing so keeps oil from depositing buildup on the block surface and helps control oil windage. Many top engine builders use Glyptal inside their blocks, it's good stuff!

Great Work 300Evil. I just purchased a 400E for daily driving and now I can get busy on my 300E second phase. Twin turbos

I did the interior makeover on the 300E last spring/early summer and now that we have an extra set of wheels the drivetrain can come out of the 300E and the fun can start.

Im excited.

Here is my interior makeover shots: http://www.f1diesel.com/300E.html

I wondered if you would be shot peening the rods that you polished the beams on? Also, what will you do for pistons?? Stock??

Don~

Interior makeover is right!

What did you do to it? It's magnificent.

We replaced the entire interior. We found a low mile wrecked 95 E320 and robbed it all to swap into this 87 300E.

Everything is a direct fit except the rear pillar panel where the seat belt loops come out for the back seat. For that we just purchased some black panels from MB.

The carpet set is better quality in the E320 VS the 300E was well so that was a nice update.

The cluster is from a E320 with the improved lighting lenses too.

The 87 was a palomino color and worn completely out. LOL

Thanks for the compliment. Now to get the engine swap and twin turbos done. These are the neatest little cars.

life is good,

Don~

Oooooh man, you're making me regret selling my 1993 300 E (3.2) "E320".

Hey Don,
Yeah, the rods have been shot peened and cryo treated. That step is not in the pics.

As for the pistons, there done! Custom made at JE pistons with lowered compression. I just need to have coatings put on them.

Nice job on that interior! looks GREAT! Keep us posted on your turbo project. There are many guys here doing the same thing and sharing knowledge and ideas makes the job much easier.

Here are the pictures of the new pistons with the stock pistons.
