Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations as to where I can get a set of very high quality SS brake lines for my 500E? Bekkers has a set for around $109...has anyone tried them?

Michael,

I have used the Bekkers ones on my 400E and the 535i. They are as good as everyone elses. I had no issues with them.

I have a Bekkers set for my 16V but I haven't had a chance to install them yet. They are DOT approved and appear to be of good quality. One thing though, in my research of SS brake lines, it seems that DOT approved does NOT necessarily mean the best. Do a search on stainless steel brake lines and you'll see differing opinions. Some claim that permenantly crimped ends are inferior. Do some research.

I used them on my E420 and have been very satisfied.

This is probably my "favorite" mod, as I realy like the firm pedal feel. Got a set of Woolridge from Randy at http://www.epsparts.com, great prices and great products. Also have a set from Bekkers, both have the DOT plastic ends and outwardly seem to be of comparable quality. Woolridge I know makes very good product, and Randy was about $20 cheaper per set. I have no idea what kind Bekker's sells.

Good luck, I really like this mod.
