I want to try a performance cat but the emissions in new england are harsh.

I don't know who manufactures the cats that Bekker sells, but I have been impressed with their product offerings over the years (I have a set of their monoblock wheels on my SEL and they are great) and would trust what they offer. When I had a new exhaust fabricated for my SEL I also installed new aftermarket free-flow cats as well. The sound was mellow and they seemed to 'work' well, meaning that they didn't restrict high-end breathing at all and they smoothed out the torque curve compared to the old cats which were shot.

An industry trade publication tested NEW factory CATs vs. so-called free-flow CATs.
Guess what, the factory CATs outperformed the so-called free-flow CATs. Also, try to find out if you engine configuration had dual-cats. These flow even better and are factory. :-) neil 1988 360TE (AMG M104 engine w/dual MB cats) |
hey guys
i know the company who makes the free-flow cats for bekkers, and they are definitely good, well made cats (one piece bolt-on type). andy |
