performance auto gearbox...
 

Hi... Does anyone know how could I beef up my 4-speed auto, to handel 400Hp and 480Nm. I really don't want to replace it with a manual, becuse I love the confort it gives me (I'm able to have my coffe in my car, driving to work on moday mornings!)...

I have untill March to figuer this out, becuse that's wen I'll begin my install.

Well we need to know which 4 speed auto because some of them already can handel that kind of power.

A 4 speed form ans SL500/600 or S500/600 1990 to 1995 will handel this power. Trying to upgrade an older transmission, I dont think you will have a hope in hell unless you make parts yourself.

John is correct. The 722.3 tranny will easily handly up to about 500hp and 400lb-ft, which should be more than enough for what you want. Just have it built to SL600 specs and you'll be fine.

thanks guys... curently looking at about 400hp and 460nm, but that would be at aprox. 12psi... that stage is a long way ahead! so i'm plaing it cool for the first stage, e.t.a. March, only 8-9psi (320-350hp...), so i'll just rebuild my 722.3 for now. by the way those kevlar plates sound good, for later on...
