Firewall insulation

Does anyone have a good supplier for firewall insulation? I'm looking for an OE appearance, so the reflective blanket type stuff would be the best. Basically I need something to use on my new firewall and trans tunnel in my w201 V8 swap project. Thanks!

I use a product called "brown bread" out of Canada.

A very thin, peel 'n stick, permanent noise-thermal insulator. Attractive and functional.

Dynamat is good. Somewhere in the audio section of this forum is a thread about that. It has a link in it to a site where several alternatives were compared and contrasted. Some of these materials do not hold up well to heat, so look for that first before you do anything. I think it'll be worth your time.

It also will make things quieter inside the car, which is its primary purpose.

Okay, I believe that thread I mentioned is here:

Dynamat Alternatives?

Check that out. I recall that it was very helpful.

Yeah, mostly worried about the thermal insulation qualities, rather than sound deadening. Big motor in small engine bay = bad for electrical stuff on the other side of the firewall

I believe the Dynamat will provide both. Their firewall insulation is foil-surfaced, I think. I know they also make hood pad replacements. I'll be using some of their stuff to make my 300TD quieter.
