I just passed by STAR Motorcars, my local MB dealer here in Houston. As I passed I noticed a line of conspicious looking BLACK MB's of various sizes and shapes all "Cloaked" out. I asked "Scotty" to hit the reverse thrusters and bring her back around on impulse power. I dawned my space suit and decided to take a space walk. There there were in ALL their glory the FULL 2002? 2003? MB line up. CLK thru Maybach. Yeah that's right I said it... Maybach. It was about the size of the previous size W140 S600. They had it parked in front of the current S class and it would almost fit inside of the Maybach. Large but very stylish. It sat on what looked to be 20" wheels. I looked for the size but they must have been special prototype tires because they had no size stamped on them.As you may(or may not) they have the head and tail lights covered to conceal their true size shape so it was difficult to fully appreciate the cars. Still though they looked FINE!!The new E was there. I think it had the new style headlights a la S/C classes. The SLK get a redesign. It looked bigger. no it wasn't the SL. The SL was there also with the new SLK style Top. Oh yeah the SLK was covered with a Rag top. Now it might have been fake mind you. I saw one of the German "agents" lurking near by and asked him if the homologation i was looking at was indeed the new SLK. He just gave a sly grin and snickered. From that I gathered that if he answered that "He'd have to Kill me", so needless to say I left it/him alone. Sorry guys, I had no camera and don't think that the "Agents" would have been as friendly with me had I attempted to indulge in espionage. They're here in Houston no doubt doing HOT weather testing. This is definitely the place to be. average temps top 100 and with Houston's humidity thrown in, it bakes, er,makes for the perfect testing arena.
Lets see well I think that's just about it. A production based no change C class lead the way and it was followed by a couple of C Coupes and then a couple of E class sedans and then the 2 SL's and the SLK and then 2 Maybach's followed by a production based S class. That about wraps it up. I then got back into my craft, repressurized the cabin and jetted....To Infinity and BEYOND!
Look for this show in your neck of the woods(if you're lucky)
