W126 Rear camber correction
 

Hi,
My W126 has just eaten a set of rears in about 7 months and 4k miles.
I do have quite alot of visible negative rear camber, but when I got my car aligned a few months back, the tech didn't say that the rear was out of spec.
The car is an '85 500SEL 5.6, no SLS. Lowered about 2" or so. 265/40r17 with 13mm offset on 8.5 rims on the rear.

From my understanding Mercedes offer eccentric bushings for the rear arms to correct minor geometry problems. How much can these adjust by? I looked up in the workshop manual, but cant find reference to them.

I think my only other alternative is a k-mac kit.

Has anybody ever used one? How easy do they install?

The benz bushings only correct a half of degree, maybe a degree @ most.


Katmac is really your only choice..sadly the quality of their kits I find leaves something to be desired.

Install is more time consuming then difficult.

I'll have to look at the print out the tech gave me to see what its at at the moment.
If I had to go with the K-mac kit, is the tool they provide sufficient for removing the old bushings?
How hard is the setup after installation?

The set I received was sans tool, so I really can't comment!

Setup isn't bad at all once they are in.
