Will the m104 camshaft fit m103?

I'm looking for a good value higher lift camshaft for the M103 engine, and wondered if one of the cams from a M104 could be used instead?

Cheers Bri

No the m104 cam is a 4valve cam and will not work even if it would fit.
Get a custom cam grind.

Have been looking at those, just not going to spend more on a camshaft than the car cost me.

Was hoping to find an alternative, and didn't know anything about the cams used in the M104, and the way the 24 vales were operated.

Thanks for the help though.

Cheers Bri

You can get an M103 cam reground at Elgin Cams for under $200. Good guys, nice work but expect to wait a couple weeks to a month. http://www.elgincams.com/

Just changing the cam duration/lift will not do much unless you increase the performance on the intake and exhaust along with timing...

Not much you can do about these things without a whole lot of cost !

That is correct. Mercedes makes a damn good engine as-is. Very little room for improvement without drastic measures. IE... Forced induction.

What would the reson be to change the cam on it? more power? change the power band? I think the m103 engined cars are pretty peppy as is.

My 104 is kind of a dog at the low end, but nice in the high end. Though I don;t really get on it much.
