ALLRIGHT a little less crazy idea.

OK, so in my never ending quest to a 10second 240d. (With the 617 diesel engine) What im thinking is propane fumigation, A/W intercooler and Drastic weight reduction (Im going to strip the entire car down to the sheet metal). Im tired of fighting electric gremlins so im going to have the F1 formula style pannel in the center like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMA5cQwn3nI. I may just get a 603 and fab some motor mounts for it. ( I mean this car is going to be GUTTED they have door panels on the doors.. im going to have sheets of metal..) Im going to remove the bumpers and the door edge guards like that one too. Should be fun and a daily driver. The weight reduction should net alot more horsepower might be allitle less body lean as well.

most of the weight is in the doors so maybe you could do something about that.

Don't forget a roll cage... When taking a way weight you have to add structural stability.

Don't the door panels weigh less that sheet metal would? Canvas MUST weigh less than metal would.

Just buy an E320 CDI and be done with it. They're a dime a dozen on EBay right now.
