Springs upgrade?
Hello folks!
I've been reading about spring upgrade for a w123. Some recommend Vogtland springs, other mentioned wagon springs on a sedan. Any suggestions on which springs from a mercedes chassis will fit a w123 that will improve handling? I'm aware shocks are in order with this and I actually have a set of Bilstein HD's on the way down here. I'm curious about this, since my OEM springs a worn so I would like to know my options...

Soon to be installed: Bilstein HD, R107 front discs and 4-piston calipers, HD Suspension springs, wagon front swaybar. |

The vogtland springs already went around, you may want to contact them to see if any others are available. As far as stock upgrades, the progressive rate rear springs for the coupe are certainly worth the time if you can pull em your self. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the handling improvments of the shocks. I sure was. Replaced rears before new spring and rears after. The Bilstein HDs are a quality product I would recommend to anyone with a w123.

Thanks for the reply Winmutt! I'll keep that in mind. Any idea if the W126 springs will work on a W126? I have access to a crashed 500 SEC that had some AMG tweaks, and its very likely the springs are part of those tweaks...
Do you have the contact information for Vogtland? I would like give them a call just for reference...

Front springs from a TD may be stiffer. There is a cross listing of springs and uses in the FSM. The springs are color coded.
