Some really nice classic bikes here!

I have a couple '77 KZ1000's. One here:

Soon to be re-built into this:

I also have a 1972 Honda Z50 mini-trail modified with a CT-70 engine, lightened flywheel and a carb from a 90cc bike. It'll do an honest 45 MPH!

That fairing has been out of production for years now. Some guys I know who are building these replicas are having some of them custom made from scratch and I'll be able to set you up if you're interested.

Your Seca would look great with that fairing!

I've had two Harleys...
I had an XLCH 1000cc Sporty when I was stationed in New Mexico at Holloman AFB. It was a tough iron-head bike. I had to run straight 60 racing oil in it during the summers just to keep the temperature down.
I ordered a new 2000 SuperGlide Sport from the military exchange when I was in Korea and had it shipped to Italy. Those days in Italy were everything I could've wanted. Racing from cafe to cafe (not the original 'beat-the-song' style) but drinking capp's at every stop and getting wired tight and going way too fast. Plus, all the oiled Italian women at the beach in the summer......

Thumbs up First Ride Today

Well, spring is here although it did snow earlier this week. Cleaned and oiled the K&N's, pumped up the tires and charged the battery one more time (usually charge it once a month through the winter).

Started after a few long cranks, ran rough and belched smoke quite heavily. I wonder if leaning over on the side stand causes problems? Shut down after a few minutes and gave it another try an hour later. Started easier but still ran a little smokey so out on the road for a high-rev purge. That did the trick after about 15 minutes it was smooth and clean.

Now if only they'd sweep the winter debris off the roads: the corners are filled with sand and gravel making dirt track turns a must. The old girl has survived another year!!

Those Gamma 500's could really be made to FLY based on what I've heard!

Right now I just have my 'old' dirtbike.. 92 KX 250 that has been in my possession since about 93. Thus far I've had the suspension worked by Racetech, full on port/polish w/ the head decked a touch to bump compression..FMF pipe/silencer, Boyseen Rad Valve etc, etc.. When she comes on you had better Hold on;-)

Seeing as gas prices will be hitting the magic (for me @ least) 4$ mark I'm looking for a Gen IV (94-97) VFR750. Honda knows how to do a V4, and this is the last iteration with gear driven cams. I know examples of this engine that are still running strong with over 170K on the clock! About 100hp @ the crank, lots more available once one gets used to it

Funny thing about those VFR's - well at least what I noticed - was that they were very, very smooth. Matter of fact most new bikes are almost vibration free. I find that takes away - kind like a disconnect - between rider and machine. I like my bike to vibrate a little to remind me that I am riding something mechanical. I don't miss my '74 xlch though - total paint shaker - ride faster than 70 mph and the vibration was so strong that my legs would go numb...Guess that is what you get with an 45 degree Iron V twin with a waste spark ignition in a non-rubber mount frame....

Tthe limited time I've spent riding my mothers R69US around I have to say it too is exceptionally smooth..especially @ 80-90mph.

My parents tell stories of riding around back in the 60's/70's and how they would come across a group of HD's and wick the BMW up to 80-90...with in the next 5-10 miles the Harley's would have to pull off as someone/thing had undoubtedly vibrated to death;-)

I'll trade the lack of vibration in the VFR for the Sound I've heard come out of that cam driven V-4 with a proper set of pipes!!

More Pics...Keep Them Coming!

Thank goodness for internet shopping! I went to the dealer this week for some new front brake pads. They quoted me $58 a set, and two sets are needed!! Plus 8-10 weeks for delivery.

Googled when I got home and two sets of brand-name pads are on the way for a grand total of $45 including shipping/taxes.
