I have a 2001 C320 and love the transmission, except that I wish it shifted a little faster. I'm reading that the C32 AMG comes with a SPEEDSHIFT 5-speed Auto that changes gears 35% faster than the standard autobox. Hoping it's not too soon to ask.. If it's a hardware modification then it's out of the question, but is it possible the AMG mod a software program or tranny chip that could be added to a standard C320?

According to the part number, the hardware is the same. IN fact all of the C320's use the same trans controls. SO don't know where the press has come up with 30% faster shifting ability.

The press (car mags) have said that AMG reported their trans (in C32 and SLK32) have up to 35% quicker shifts. So the source is AMG.
Couldn't it be a software alteration or upgrade?
