More E420 suspension ?spring rates?
I am having trouble with disc of my CD rom manual. If anyone has access, would you mind looking up the spring rates (pounds or Newtons of compression force and lenghth) of the following springs. I believe it is listed under chassis/ spring replacement for the appropriate year and model:
94 E420: front: 124 321 39 04 rear: 124 324 12 04 93-95 E320 Sportline: front: 124 321 30 04 rear: 124 324 28 04 94 E500: front: 124 321 35 04 rear: 124 324 30 04 I hope that I have a backup of disk 2 burnt somewhere. This comparison might shed some light on the problem selecting springs for the 400E/E420 cars, since no factory sportline was available in US.

The strongest spring listed for a E420 is the 124-321-42-04. Euro sport spring for the front. For the rear 124-324-35-04, euro sport spring for the rear.

bob,
If the disc is scratched, lookf or somethig at your local computer superstore, called the cd doctor or disc doctor or game doctor or dvd doctor. I think its one of those. Its a disc surface polisher. I have the game doctor, and have used it on audio cd's, data cd's, game cd's, cdR's, CDRW's, and dvd's that were badly scratched, and they work perfectly now. Its like a 10 minute process to do a disc, if it even takes that long... Alon

M.B. Doc, thanks so much for the information. I got impatient and ordered the sportline E320 springs and rear sway bar from the Parts shop ( I already have the E500 front sway bar, I dont think the E320 sportline bar would clear the V8). Now, I'm not sure whether to order this stuff and sell (exchange?) the sportline parts that I'm due to receive in a few days. Decisions, decisions. I think I might be getting in over my head.

M.B.Doc, I have another question. I think that I would like to get the Euro sport stuff for the E420. Phil (PartsShop) is coming up with an invalid part number response for the rear springs. Would you verify that number. Are there other options? And, if I may trouble you a little more, what about the sway bars and bushings? I already have new Bilstein HD's, so I don't personally need the strut part numbers, but they would probably be useful to someone else who might be contemplating the conversion. I'm very excited that a "Euro Sport" (though not Sportline) setup might be available for the E420/400E. I realize that this is time consuming volunteer work for you, and I appreciate any information you come up with.
