Dear Members, I have asked this question on the MB forum, and have not received any answers any help here will be appreciated, while driving the car i suddenly lost about 80% of the car;s power ran rough felt like running only on four cylinders, Retrieved the code #7 kept coming up. looked at the left distributor and rotors seems OK, But the right one the distributor cap the cover and the mounting plate and the rotor completely destroyed, like some one put every thing in the blender and pulverized every thing, I am really puzzled as to why did this happen, I am in the process of replacing every part, but help in the matter will be greatly appreciated, the car has 29,000 miles

What is your question exactly?

Sounds like the dist cap and rotor were installed incorrectly for that to happen....hence only running on one cylinder bank. Wonder if there's any internal damage now.

Probably a loose distributor cap or loose rotor. Never heard of that happening before but that is definitely what threw the code.
