Anyone autocross their E55? If so, what mods did you think were necessary? Is the car okay stock? My impression from driving but not yet on the track with it is that it handles well for a sedan, but it isn't really DE and autocross material.

I've been thinking of getting my wife interested in our PCA events, and having her use her E55. I have a 996TT on order and currently own a Boxster. One option, though not in her eyes, would be to keep the Boxster rather than trade on the 996TT, teach her to drive stick, and let her use the Boxster, which is tailor made for autocross.

An E55 is in fact an excellent candidate for Autocrossing...however..and this is a BIG however, it all depends how competitive you want to be. The only changes I would make to the car are in the suspension and suspension setup. The car has monster torque, but keeping it 'to the ground' will require modifications to adjust camber, caster and toe. Surprisingly, it is not horribly expensive either.
