I see ads for Borlas in magazines all the time. I don't know if they're any good or not. Does anybody else here have any experience with Borla exhausts?

Remus is always good. If it's custom fabbed, milltek makes a good muffler but mostly on VW/Audi products, or blueflame. Hard to find though. Borla, in the Audi community, is described as one of the loudest, but from what I heard it actually sounds OK. Magnaflow is alright, but pretty loud usually. Supersprint is highly regarded, but I've never heard one in person.
I just purchased a Remus wild label, a loud universal can from Remus, which is usually subdued and deep, for $300 or so but I haven't gotten it yet. I'll post a sound when it goes on, but in the meantime, browsing youtube for exhaust clips is at the very least entertaining if not informative. But most people rev to like 3000:mad:

I use a cheap dynomax muffler and just check out the youtube vids, it can make even the crappy V6 camaros sound good. My vids are no good since my open wastegate pipe drowns out the exhaust note. They are quiet on the highway and none of the high raspy notes go through, only the deep mellow tones.

Which Dynomax are you using?

I run Magnaflow's on my V8's and I Love the sound....get quite a few compliments from all sorts of sources to boot.

The super turbo model, Its the 2nd quiestest muffler they make but it has a awesome idle and WOT sound but doesnt drone on the highway

I noticed they had one that was welded. What would be the benefit of the welding and what is the welding in place of, crimping?

On my white 91 I have duals that terminate in front of the differential. Everything else is two back to a dual in dual out muffler.

I like to keep the stock/stealth looks:)

Has anyone ever eliminated the stock center muffler & ran just the rear? If so how does it sound or perform? Thanks

I have no cats or a center muffler and my car just lowly rumbles at idle, gets a deep tone on the gas, silences when cruising less than 65mph(above 65 there is a little sound with the windows up and no radio on), and gets angry on the WOT :D

Mainly its for people who like to introduce their mufflers to speedbumps from time to time :D They hold up better but last the same amount of time if left unobstructed.

Deleting the center resontor frees things up a bit and adds touch more throat to the exhaust.

I would highly recommend running Magnaflow metal substrate cats, they work great and in Quite a few dyno tests various cars actually make more power w/ these cats then w/ a test pipe installed.

My resonators and connecting pipes were pretty badly rusted, so I cut them out and welded new pipe in to replace them. I can't hear any real difference with them gone.

Is that WITH a muffler down the line or no muffler after the cats, Jonathan?
