I need new brake pads, what to get?

I need new brake pads for our 1995 E320 (124), and 1999 ML 320.

For the E320 I was thinking EBC Green Stuff, are they really as good as they seem,
how is the dust?

I don't know what to get for the ML their are no EBC Greens Stuff pads available.
If there is nothing better than the stock pads I will just get those.

I have some Mintex pads in my E420 and I am not very impressed with them, the
dust is the same as stock maybe a little less, and stopping is the same.(they are just
normal street pads) I wish I would have gotten the EBC Green Stuff.

Thanks
Subman

Oh yea these are for street use only.
Well the E320 might be used in a autocross in febuary, but I am not sure.

Thanks

New pad suggestion

I recently replaced stock pads on my 93 300 CE with Axxis Metal Master pads. The stopping power is excellent and there is no squealing. Best of all, the dust accumulation has decreased significantly. Now the rest of my car looks dirty way before the wheels look dirty. The investment in time and money was well worth it.

I'll simply offer that my 500E completely used up a set of Red Stuff pads in 60 mi. of track use. When I called EBC to inquire as to whether this is normal wear, after some probing I did learn that it's not unusual-ouch! Does this mean I have to buy a set of pads for each event, maybe 2 sets?? They avoid mentioning this accelerated wear rate in any of their literature, so I'd be cautious in my wear expectations of the Green Stuff pads. Don't get me wrong-I love how the EBC pads performed, but they lasted about 10% as long as I'd expected:(

I replaced the pads on my 92 300CE with factory OEM textar pads.

They stop great, brake dust happens, but its no biggie, so I have to wash the wheels every few days.

I have been using EBC Green Stuff pads on my 87 300e for a month now. no squeek, little dust, and more brake performance.
i would highly recomend these pads.
God Bless America!

I've got EBC green stuff on my wagon's front wheels and Axxis Metalmaster pads on all 4 corners on my wife's 300E. The EBC pads create a lot less dust than OEM pads but more than the Metalmasters. If I was to pick one I'd choose the Metalmasters (they're also less expensive than the EBC pads). No dust, no squeal, good performance.

Well I have already ordered EBC Green Stuff from Tire Rack. But I still need some for the ML. I would like to know where you get the axxis pads, I will need new pads for the E420 eventually.
Do the pads hurt the rotors, I do not want to ruin my rotors.

Thanks

Haven't had the pads on long enough on either car to assess rotor wear. However, rotors are cheap (relatively) so I personally am not all that concerned about wear.

Cheers

on my previous car I had axxis metal matrix pads, besides from the metallic squeak ( which is normal ), they were excelllent, I would recommend them again.
