Everytime I come across a 500E/E500 posting I can't help to think of you and your former pristine 500E. I always regreat I could not afford to buy your car when you sold it. Did you ever follow the status of your car after your sold it? I'm just curious if the current owner kept it in such a nice condition.

It's funny that we keep coming back to this forum every once in a while and find some of our old friends still posting regulary.

Currently I am also in the search for a pristine 500E and hoping I will find a "garage queen" for sale. Please let me know if you come across one.

Good to hear from you! I stumbled on a low mileage 93 a few weeks ago on cars.com, it was listed for $29K and had under 40K miles. It looked perfect in the pictures but a personal inspection and PPI would be the only way to confirm. Had I known you were looking I would have sent the link.

Wow, it seems many things have changed. I didn't know 500 Ecstasy had died, did Scott sell his car?

When I get serious again about looking for another 500 I'll get more involved on the new forum.

I have a Green with black interior 1993 500e with 252K miles and the drive train is still going strong ! I have it listed for sale at $5500. I have had some serious buyers looking but most are tire kickers (but hey, I was a tire kicker once too) and low ballers.

Anyhow, I am really having hard time letting this classic go for so cheap. Its a cosmetic fixer. I will keep it unless I get the price i am asking.

But for now, I am the proud owner of the only Green with black interior 500e in existence !

LOL... it is a rare combo, but not quite the only one. There was a green 1992 500E with black interior for sale in Feb-2011, I think on Benzworld? It was facelifted and had a salvage title, but came with new engine harness, Silver Arrow brake upgrade, and 18" AMG wheels. Sold for $3500 in about a week.

You should keep your green '93 and restore it, Stevester!

I still remember fondly the drive you took me on in your 6.3 when you were in Portland.

About two years ago I bought the 280SE 4.5 listed in my signature, "The Red Baron". The folks at the Classic Center tell me it is a very rare color in the W108 chassis. They're only aware of a few.

I registered on your 500 site....if you remember I was shopping for a 500E when I bought the E430 by accident, which is another story.

Wish I would've bought the 500E I looked at in Malibu. If you recall, I wrote about the experience on Scott Schell's old forum.
