Afshin, are you still in Temecula, CA (as seen in your profile), or did you relocate to New England? I could understand not wanting to drive an .036 in the Nor'east, but I was confused since SoCal doesn't really have anything you could call "winter"...

More info about that particular car is in this thread. The dealer paid $7k on trade to the previous owner, and now they're trying to get 200% (!!!) profit out of it. No records and questionable history on the dealer (not the car), so be careful...

Dave, I forgot that I haven't updated my profile. I live in South Eastern MA now, about 40 minutes from Boston. Winters aren't too harsh here but they do salt/sand the roads regularly during the winter and our home is surrounded by tall trees which means occasional tree sap and pine needle removal, none of which are ideal for the E500E.

I figure in 3 - 4 years I should have the garage done and this will open up more space to keep a car inside. I'll start looking for a 500 again at that time.

Seller is just fishing for a sucker. It's a $14K-$15K tops car. About 5 years ago I sold one for $17K but it had a "famous" PO and extensive RennTech mods.

So, a C32 AMG was cheaper than a car lift for your garage?

Congratulations on the new addition. Hope to hear your testimonials on the C32. Ohhhh the wait until it arrives must be killing you!

Thanks Ernesto. I also can't wait to get it, it really will be nice to have a Mercedes again.

The C32 was definitely an easier purchase. I need to have the floors epoxied, change the garage door tracks and change the garage door openers before I can install the lifts. That's a major expense and I want to do it right.

The C32 was an easy purchase, I traded my Mazda Speed3 straight up for it and I won't feel bad about leaving it outside. The C32 has had a ton of preventative maintenance done on it and shouldn't need anything for at least a year and hopefully longer than that. I also trust the seller and it's a no stories car.

The 500E would cost more seeing as I couldn't settle for just any 500E. I also would want to perform the preventative maintenance which will likely be at least $3k.
