W124 E500 Mud Flaps

I know that it sounds like a terrible idea, but I am looking for nice MBZ mud flaps for an E500/W124.

I am hoping that there is something nice & "aero" looking out there.

Does anyone know if this is available for the W124 E500?

That's just sacrilegious!

You could probably make the standard W124 flaps fit but the front may be tricky.

I know, you are right there. . . but I am trying to reduce road graze from blowing up on the lower cladding so much.

I was in Germany last month (Bremen area) and saw an E500 with some nice sporty looking flaps. They were black & short in style. I have been looking around and can not find anything. They were a perfect fit on the E500. . .

I am hoping that there is something out there that is a perfect fit & looks 100% perfect.

thanks,

Kieran-

Yeah, I have that problem too. Damn rock chips! You may want to check with the guys on 500Ecstacy, I'm sure someone there has heard of 500E/E500 specific mudflaps. You may also want to check with your local MB dealer, you may get lucky.

Sorry to say but 500ecstasy has been down for months now and may not ever come back. Many have migrated to http://www.*********.com/forum/ and you are welcome to ask there.

FWIW, there are no factory flaps for the W124036 (or tow package for that matter) and I'm not aware of a good-fitting aftermarket set but others may know. Good luck!

Taste, or lack thereof, is strictly a personal issue...

Is J.C. Whitney still in business? They may have some curb-feelers to match with the mud flaps.

Thumbs up

If you must have them, they are a good idea nonetheless. I don't think in all my years I've seen a 500E with mudflaps tho ...I guess if you are handy and find the right material you can make your own custom, that clip on even. Audi uses clips on theirs (no drilling)...anyway. I'll bet a regular W124 one is modable to fit a 500E. Hmmm. Dave?

I did this to my Scirocco fronts wells 20 years ago (ie college student budget/mentality)and used Napa generic truck mudflaps(basically thin rubber squares)! Folks at VWshows would say 'where did you get those? they look great, factory, clean...yadayada'. I made them in about a half hour with side cutters...made to fit the inner lip of the fender flair; easy; $5. They still are on the car too.
